Staff Photo Bilal joined DGS Marine Group in April 2011. He obtained his two years Master's Degree in Maritime Law in June 2010 from Lund University, Sweden, with distinction and with special focus on Marine Insurance, Shipping and Environmental Laws. He has more than 6 years' experience in negotiating and writing Marine contracts, in addition to working in the vast field of Business Law. He is now working as a Marine Manager in the Danish Office, and responsible for evaluating and providing indications for potential new Assureds and additional ships to existing fleets.

Staff Photo Mrs. Zoe Athanasiadou has a number of years of experience in dealing with marine insurance claims. She has been employed for the last 4 years with an insurance brokers company based in Limassol, actively supporting the Cargo Claims Manager in day-to-day handling of various cargo claims on behalf of the Owners. For the last year she has been involved in FD&D matters and general shipping related issues.

Apart from her native Serbian, Zoe speaks fluent Greek, English, Hungarian and fair to the Russian language.

As Claims Executive, Mrs. Zoe Athanasiadou supports the Marine Claims Department of the Limassol Representative Office, headed by the Director of Claims. She recently joined the DGS Marine Representative Office in Limassol, Cyprus.

Staff Photo A 32 years Marine Insurance career amongst others as managerial staff in Ship owning companies and insurance brokers in Hamburg. Holger joined us in 2009 and established our Group subsidiary in Cyprus where he is a resident since 13 years. He provides extensive network and professional claims expertise not only in P & I matters and now heads the Limassol office of DGS Marine. In February 2010 he was invited to join the Group Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Staff Photo Constantinos joined the DGS Marine Cyprus office in August 2011. Following his studies as a Naval Architect at the Technological Education Institute of Athens in Greece he has worked as a field engineer and surveyor in the Marine and Oil Industry in Cyprus, Israel and Egypt.

He has sailing experience, is STCW certified and experienced in designing, estimating and producing CAD drawings of materials, in particular for the marine construction works.

Mrs. Rozail Dobra joined DGS Marine in 2010.

She has a Bachelor Degree in Media (Journalism) Communications and Marketing from the Megatrend University, Belgrade / Serbia.

Born in Basra / Iraq, Rozail grew up in Serbia. Besides her native language of Serbian, Rozail is fluent in English, Russian, Greek and Arabic.

As Claims Executive Rozail supports the Marine Claims Department of the Limassol Representative Office.

A total of 30+ years of experience in the shipping industry including 15 years sea experience as commanding deck officer on general cargo and tanker ships.

As from 1990 he has been involved in insurance and claims departments of major shipping companies handling maritime, P&I, H&M, LoH and other related matters in senior position. He provides extensive network and professional claims expertise.

As ‘Director of Claims’, he is responsible for all claims aspects within the group.

In January 2012 he was invited to join the Group Board of Directors.

Pushkar is a Master Mariner, he has sailing experience spanning ten years. During his career at sea, he has sailed on various types of ships which include Bulk Carriers, Oil Tankers, Very Large Crude Carrier, and L.P.G tankers.

Following his successful sea career, he came ashore and did an MBA in Maritime Management.

Pushkar joined DGS Marine in November 2010 as a Risk Management/ Loss Prevention Executive and is based in our London office.

Franky is a dually qualified lawyer (Solicitor/Indian Advocate).

She commenced her legal career at a national law firm in India as a corporate and commercial lawyer. Her interest in the shipping industry was initiated by her involvement with entities in the energy sector. She came to London to join a law firm specialising in maritime law, following which, she qualified as a Solicitor of England and Wales. Franky brings with her substantial private practice experience.

Staff Photo Richard spent eighteen years at sea on cargo and container vessels before coming ashore in 1990 and thereafter spent a number of years at a well known Danish Ship-Owner. He joined the DGS Marine Group in 2007 as head of the Risk Management Department, which co-ordinates the Loss Prevention and Condition Survey services including loss prevention support for our sister companies. He is a Master Mariner and has an MBA.

Richard retired from the Group in March of 2010, and whilst no longer involved as head of the Risk Management Department, he continues to provide support and assistance to the team in the role of Consultant.

Staff Photo After her apprenticeship as legal assistant, Melanie continued to work for various lawyers offices for ten years. During this time she became acquainted with office management and accounting related matters.

Melanie joined the DGS Group’s Hamburg Office in October 2011 and she speaks fluent German and English.

Following a diploma in business studies, Ansa gained extensive experience as an administrator with over 10 years of practice in various industries working in the finance sector for the last 4 years.

Ansa joined DGS Marine Group in July 2011 as the London Office Manager with the responsibility of managing, organising and supervising all  administrative activities that facilitate the smooth day to day running of the London Office.

In addition to her primary duties, she is also tasked with developing and implementing new administrative and financial record management systems in the London office.

Being of German and Pakistani origin, Ansa speaks fluent English, German and some Urdu.

Staff Photo After passing her technical college qualification, Tina started her apprenticeship at a privately owned traditional Luebeck based ship owning company where she stayed for 5 more years, also working in the marine insurance claims department.

She then joined a Ship management Company where she was responsible for commercial fleet management related matters.

During her career Tina also gained experience in the area of quality management and in the purchase department.

Tina joined us in June 2011 as a marine executive and from the 1st of September 2011, she will be the Claims Manager in our recently opened Hamburg office.

She speaks fluent German and English.

Staff Photo Mrs. Fotini Maleskou joined DGS Marine Group in October 2011 as Office Manager and P.A. to the Executive Director in our Cyprus Office.

She completed her studies in Commercial Business in Germany and with over 20 years of practice in the Gastronomy and Airline Catering Industries and in various managerial positions she gained extensive experience in Business Administration, Accounting, Sales and Reception.

Fotini is of Greek origin and raised in Germany. She speaks fluent Greek, German, and English.

Staff Photo Kelly obtained a degree (Production Technology) from Greenwich University in 2008, focusing on media communications, product promotion and idea development. After completing her degree, she gained experience in media and product promotion while working for a company in partnership with leading UK newspapers.

Kelly joined DGS Marine in 2010 as a P&I Technician. Having shown a personal passion for the company and a flair for ideas, she was promoted to Marketing & Development Executive in May 2011 and is based in our London office.

She is responsible for the development of our marketing and branding strategies, as well as the development of our merchandise, design of our monthly article 'SOS' and our quarterly newsletter 'The Compass' and also project managing events and training seminars organised by DGS Marine London.

Bill is a Naval Architect and has well over 35+ years experience in surveying ships

Following seven years in shipyards during which he qualified as a Chartered Engineer, he became an assistant Naval Architect/Superintendent with Ocean Fleets Limited. His duties included design, plan approval and newbuilding supervision of a variety of different types of vessels in many countries.

He was also employed as a Senior Surveyor for many years with a well known P & I Club carrying out entry and routine condition surveys.

He has also worked for Class and marine consultancy companies carrying out a range of surveys for Lawyers, Underwriters, Shipowners and Shipyards involving damage claims, casualties, On-Hire Off Hire surveys and expert witness surveys.

He has also carried out surveys of ports and also "All risk" Shipbuilding surveys on the behalf of the market and lawyers.

Bill joined DGS in July 2010 as Chief Surveyor/Consultant and will be based in our London office.

Nigel is a Master Mariner.

Following a seagoing career spanning 11 years where he sailed on a various types of vessel ranging from general cargo ships to large crude oil tankers, Nigel completed an MBA in Maritime Management and also qualified as a Chartered Ship Broker before joining a leading Maritime Law firm as an Admiralty Manager based in London. Whilst there, he handled various different types claims and conducted numerous casualty investigation as well as advising Ship-Owners, Hull & Machinery Underwriters and P&I Clubs on risk assessment and best practice methodology following accidents and other incidents.

In addition, he has also conducted reviews of ship operations and procedures, providing recommendations for improvement prior to shore-side and onboard management audits. Nigel joined DGS in early 2010 as Loss Prevention / Risk Manager and was promoted to Divisional Director in October 2010. He is based in London and heads the London office.

Born in Hamburg and raised in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Tina passed her French Baccalauréat at the ‘Lycée Français de Hambourg’ before starting her traineeship at a privately owned traditional Hamburg ship owning company.

After passing her exams she joined a well established Hamburg based Marine Insurance Broker dealing with Hull & Machinery claims followed by joining a Ship Management Company where she was responsible for all insurance-related matters.

Tina joined us in March 2011 and took over the position as General Manager in our recently opened Hamburg office. She speaks fluent German, English and French.

Brigitte moved to our Liechtenstein office in 2011, where she is responsible for the assessment of business information and statistical analysis, as well as assisting in the production of statutory and management financial information.

Staff Photo Frank is a lawyer and joined the DGS Marine Group in 2007 in both the P&I Department and the FD&D Department. He has specialised in shipping and international trade since qualifying as a Lawyer in 1975. Frank is author of the Group's Guides on Bills and Lading and Letters of Indemnity, and is an experienced mediator.

Frank retired from the Group in March of 2011, and whilst no longer involved as head of the Danish office and the Danish Claims Department, he continues to provide support and assistance to the team in the role of Consultant.

Peter has over 30 yrs experience in the P&I Insurance market and till recently was an Associate Director at another P&I Club.

Peter bring with him a wealth of experiences having handled a variety of claims ranging from collisions, groundings to complex cargo claims. Additionally, he specialises in personal injury and asbestos related claims.

Throughout his extensive career, Peter has travelled extensively visiting ship-owners and presented seminar and case studies on various types of claims.

Peter joined DGS Marine in Feb 2011 as a Senior Executive Consultant and is based in the London office.

Before joining, he worked in a ship-brokering house in Copenhagen, where he was responsible for operations and business development in Scandinavia.
